One of the coolest things about hip-hop music is the speed at which things get done.
Like this song by Jump Smokers, for example...
And not only is this a great use of SPEED, which is something major labels can't compete with, it's also a great job of leveraging current events to get publicity.
Hay,
Where is the Hip-hop in this? (or hip-hip as you write in the title...)
I hope you not thinking that the Jump Smokers are producing the track in this video. He is spinning the track.
The track is a nice club-house track and Chris Brown is more about RnB.

Yes, video is DJ Flipside, who is spinning Jump Smokers.
Technically, it's a house track. And if you want to drill down on
that, you can. Point is still the same... Club music moves fast, as
does independent music.
What's old is new again. Listen to some of the older guys I interview
on Music Business Radio. They talk about writing, recording, and
releasing a song within days. That is happening again and in a much
bigger way, thanks in part to social media and syndicated programming
that reaches far beyond a local/regional market.
