It's a long letter, but I feel you'll benefit from it...especially if you're looking to get involved with film/TV music licensing.

David,
Thanks for everything
There's a tornado of negativity out there, and if you're not equipped to withstand the onslaught it'll wear you down and ultimately destroy you.
IF YOU ALLOW IT TO!!!
Yet even with that being said, I truly believe we all need a pep talk every now and again. Be you beginner, veteran, genius or otherwise.
At times a pat on the back, a firm handshake of support, or just a simple.."Go get 'em kid" could mean the difference between a person who lives to fight another day, or a person who throws in the towel and falls victim to the "poison"(ie negative talk, etc) that was given to him.
I don't view you as a "marketing guru". Trust me when I say I've met enough of those guys in my lifetime and I'm not impressed. I can tell that you're a guy who has walked the path many of us seem to be going in circles in, and you understand how to break the pattern.
I wish you well in all that you do. Peace.
